CSR

“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs”.

(World Commission on Environment and Development (Brundtland Commission), 1987, Our Common Future, Oxford University Press, Oxford, United Kingdom).

The effects of PET on the environment?

PET is widely recycled. This means the material used initially can be recuperated and reused following a series of simple rinsing processes or a chemical treatment process that will decompose it into raw materials or intermediary products to convert them into PET resins again.

In the case that the PET material may not be recycled, it can then be used as a source of energy (thermal recycling).

PlastiVerd offers products from the PlastiVerd UNIQUE range that contains chemical recycling material obtained at different levels.

Our Sustainability Policy

We sincerely believe that products should cause the least negative impact on society. This is one of the pillars of our business strategy in the long-term and which should enable us to reach success. For this reason, PlastiVerd commits itself to assessing all possible impacts on the environment or repercussions of resources used and social aspects that may be affected by any of the processes implemented by the company.
PlastiVerd sets its managerial aims in accordance with the resources needed to maximise sustainability in its plants and processes.

Amongst its objectives in terms of sustainability, PlastiVerd aims at the following:

  • Developing projects involving a better use of energy. These involve the reduction of a specific consumption of energy through the use of highly efficient energy recovery systems (lower waste and emissions).
  • Implementing a new technology designed for chemical recyling patented by PlastiVerd, which includes recycled PET as a raw material in PET manufacturing plants. The objective is to reach at least 10% of the average consumption of R – PET per ton of PET resin produced in 2015.
  • Our technical and development team consistently aims at searching for new ecological alternatives to implement in each and every managerial process. This investigation has led PlastiVerd to conceive two PET resins so far which contribute to greater sustainability: PlastiVerd UNIQUE (in various forms) and PlastiVerd FastFlow Plus

We also ensure that we comply with national and international standards regarding food related safety and manufacturing regulations and good practices beyond legal prerequisites.
